The Financial Services Commission, Mauritius (FSC) recently appointment Kamalsing Burun as Assistant Director of its Capital Markets cluster.
His appointment is consolidating the existing strategic team of the FSC in line with the new dynamism brought to the Commission to deliver on new expectations set for the financial services sector.
Prior to joining the FSC, Mr Burun worked for a major international bank where he held various positions both in Mauritius and in Hong Kong. More recently, he led the implementation of financial crime compliance programmes covering Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, Customer Due Diligence and Tax Transparency. Mr Burun has served as director of a number of investment and fund companies. He also worked as a consultant advising on cross-border tax planning in the United Kingdom (UK).
Mr Burun is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and a Chartered Tax Adviser (UK). He was previously an active member of the Executive Committee of the International Fiscal Association – Mauritius Branch.
